The Squad trains frequently on extrication. As new car technology changes, the squad keeps up with the newest vehicle construction and air bag applications. With rigorous training and real life scenarios, we are able to maintain a high level of skill.

Here are some pictures from a prom demo put on with Riverton Fire Department.

 

         

           

 

 

This is a demonstration of an airbag being deployed. The object on top of the air bag is several fire hoses strapped together in the shape of a human body and weighing in at over 170lbs. The demonstration was put on by the New Berlin Fire Department.

The extrication training here is the Sangamon County Rescue Squad and New Berlin Fire Department. Notice the K-9 Search dog working to find a victim that has been thrown from the vehicle.
