K-9: Jessie, 6 year old German Shepard

    By profession, I am a Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse.  I have trained dogs in conformation and obedience for over twenty years.  I am also a new member of Service Dogs of America, the first American organization to recognize working dog titles with a national registry.  I started training Search and Rescue about seven years ago with a six month old American bred German Shepherd named Jessie.

    Jessie has trained in wilderness, water, cadaver and disaster scenarios.  Jessie was used in confirming a sequence of events related to a train derailment that resulted in the death of a railroad employee.  Jessie was also instrumental in assisting local law enforcement in making a positive water recovery.  Jessie remains in service for the county, always eager to serve, always ready to travel.
